THIO-FLEX is a Government Specification Vegetable Fibre Sheet Packing (HH-P96G) coated with synthetic rubber to provide 
a material to meet difficult sealing conditions.  Experience has shown sealing failures often come from minute leakages 
between the gasket and the flange, due to tiny imperfections normally found on flange surfaces.  The rubber coating, under 
compression, flows into these imperfections, thus assuring a leakproof seal.

THIO-FLEX is resistant to water, petroleum, oils and solvents, aromatic and standard gasolines, lacquer solvents, toluol and 
benzol.

Although there is no longer a covering Federal Specification for coating, THIO-FLEX is manufactured to former Army Ordinance 
Specification AXS-1128, Type 1, Grade A.
